The first day I tried out Elite Edge, approximately four months ago, I got to the station with the ring pull-ups. I looked at the rings, called the trainer over, and embarrassingly told him that I could not do a pull-up. I think I was the only person in the class who was unable to do a pull-up. Fast forward to four months later and now I am able to do three pull-ups. THREE! I have never been able to do a pull-up in my 37 years of life and now I can do three after just four months of exercising at Elite Edge.
In addition to my three pull-ups, I can run at a pace of nine minute miles. Again, I have never been able to do that. I ran 10Ks, half marathons, and marathons before I ever became pregnant eight years ago. At my best, my fastest race pace was 10.5 minute miles. That was eight years ago when I was in my twenties! Now, I am running nine minute miles in my late thirties.
Another great victory I have accomplished since exercising at Elite Edge is being able to do more push-ups and squats in one minute than my fit husband. Never did I ever, or he ever, think that I would possibly be more fit than him one day, especially when I couldn’t even jump up onto a twelve inch box when I started exercising in July of 2017.
I honestly did not expect to see or experience significant results when I started exercising at Elite Edge due to the fact that I had already lost 20lbs in eight months on my own at a “chain” gym. I joined Elite Edge because I was bored of the same, mundane classes at the “chain” gym, and liked the planned, daily, different workouts at Elite. However, since joining Elite four months ago, I have excelled physically. I’ve lost an additional four pounds. And I feel and see muscles on my body that I have never felt or seen before. Who would have ever thought that I would be in the best shape of my life after four pregnancies/babies?? I am pretty amazed, to say the least.
Thanks to Jason, Mike, and the other trainers at Elite Edge for encouraging me to exercise past what I thought was my limit. I have never considered myself to be “fit” or an “athlete,” but I definitely feel closer to those labels after being at Elite Edge.
